7 month update

One of my neocities mutuals has just come back from a 7-month interval, so I thought I'd make it easy for them to catch up by recounting some highlights from May to November 2025.

November.

Perhaps the most significant news out of everything is that I found the greatest girl in the world and we've moved in together! Like I said on my about page, she completes me and I love her so much. She's introduced me to so much in the way of new food, new games, and new places to go, and I honestly can't remember how I ever got by without her.

The lead-up to our cohabitating was the kick in the trousers I needed to clear out all of my old masc clothes, which was weighing heavily on my mind. In terms of other things going on this month, my gf has introduced me to Terraria for Nintendo 3DS, which I probably spent WAY too much time playing last night.

October.

Spooky month! I spent the whole month Halloweenmaxxing, but especially the last week there. While I'm still working on the main writeup, the Hallo-week video log as it was occurring can be found here.

Other things that happened included finding an acknowledgement of my longstanding OTP from a semi-canon source! Gexubsy is canon now because Sean Chiplock, Bubsy's new voice actor, says so! I wrote a new song in celebration of that. Also, I got 400 followers and held a little AMA since I didn't want to talk about politics again and I'm fresh out of fun facts about my site.

September.

I started writing music for my girlfriend's RPG Maker game, Gretta's Revenge. We're still working out the storyline, so when we get back to work, a lot of the music is probably going to change. The leitmotif-based stuff though, like Gretta's theme and the Chicken Farmer's theme, probably won't change much, but I still want to write snowverworld, beach, underground, midlevel fortress, and final castle themes. Also the architect of fascist America got capped in the neck and a bunch of websites suspended accounts that weren't talking about Unlucky Chucky like he was the Son of God. But, that doesn't directly relate to my life.

August.

The important stuff that happened this month is, sadly, somewhat outdated now. Since it relates mostly to my gf (we were still platonic then), I won't breach her trust by talking about it here, but suffice to say that the hardcore punk song I wrote is not going to be used. However, having nothing to do with that, about part the way through August, I went to Nature Preserve Park and walked all the way to the other end, taking some pictures en route that ended up on my walking journal.

Perhaps the most significant change this month was, I shut down my itch.io account. As I was planning on the 8th record, a far-right transphobic PAC from Australia, called "Collective Shout", used VISA/MasterCard to bully transfems out of public spaces online. While I hadn't personally been threatened or shut down, I decided that itch.io's quick action in caving to the demands of yet another fascist entity was no longer compatible with my goals of being an out trans woman with an online storefront, so I shut my account there down. It took most of the month to convince them that I was serious, but they did eventually accede. Now, all my albums are donationware, available to download 1 track at a time from the players on the album pages. I know, there's probably a better way to optimise this, but for the moment this will work fine.

I mentioned on my hidden diary page that I was working on a semi-erotic fic surrounding some OC's I'd made, but I worked on that for a week and never got back to it. Such is the excitement of my life.

July.

I discovered Odd Tinkering's Youtube channel and ugly-cried as he restored a whole-ass Atari 2600. I mean, yeah, I was PMS'ing at the time, which could explain why I cried at all; but all I could think about at the time was that this game console, which probably hadn't worked in my entire lifetime, was not only being made functional again, but was being made to look inside and out as though it had just come off the production line yesterday. Elsewhere on his channel, I also discovered that the problem I had been having with my Wii last November was probably due to dust and a disconnected WiFi antenna.

I also started using Linux Mint to emulate N64 games. It was nice to finally bring GoldenEye, Banjo-Kazooie, and Mario 64 back out to the sitting room TV, and to bring Banjo-Tooie out there for the very first time.

June.

Basically for this entire month, I played nothing except Pokémon LeafGreen on my 3DS. I'm not totally sure why I stopped once I got to Cerulean City, but something I can't really remember diverted my attention. I was going to sell my Nintendo 2DS this month, but I kept discovering corrupt ROMs that I had preloaded, then I kept dragging my feet on finding coverart for the GBA ROMs (MobyGames used to be my go-to for that kind of thing, but ever since they rate-limited their site unless you buy a fucking subscription, I can't use it anymore). It all turned out for the best, though, because I just gave my 2DS to my girlfriend when we moved in together. She's been playing it pretty much daily ever since!

Also, my mum's friend, K, gave me her old car for only the price of a bag of my homemade existential crisis scones. The DMV was kind of incredulous about that, but they relented eventually and licensed my car.

May.

There was a lot of shit going down in the American political machine this month, to the point it seemed like I was ringing up my state senators every day. Actually, that's true. Over Memorial Day weekend, I was leaving 2 messages a day for my reps. Anyway, it was all moot because nothing in this system works faster than corruption. Sorry for the downer ending to this post, but May wasn't a very good month here. Oh, I did switch from Firefox to Librewolf. Just in time, too, considering the very next Firefox update would add a fuck-ass AI chatbot. What makes tech companies do that? Fuck up perfectly good technology with AI integration. "Oh, you gotta do it to stay competitive!" Maybe the system fucking sucks and you should not be concerned about what the rest of it is doing? Yeah, that makes too much sense, doesn't it? I'm STILL going through my posts and changing "Firefox" to "Librewolf".

Well, that ended kind of on a bad note. but there's a quick rundown of what's been going on since May.
