Vibecoded 3DS Homebrew Apps

I always thought the homebrew scene was more considerate than this. But, no. All across the board, people are turning off their brains and discarding their skillsets (if they ever had any to begin with) and punching up "program that can run on Nintendo 3DS" into Claude or whatever. Universal-Updater, while being "not anti-AI", at least lets you know if a program was vibecoded or not, but you have to look that up on their website. The 3DS client app won't tell you.

I went through the list so you don't have to and, I've gotta say to all the homebrew devs out there: I'm disappointed in you. You know how to make this shit run on 3DS, you just don't want to take the time, or if something's too hard, you just give up and say "oh, Claude!" I have a knuckle sandwich with extra toppings reserved specifically for the "developer" of Lynx3DS, but I have a second one all made up nice for Snes9X, too. You fuckers betrayed me. You betrayed everyone.

I'm not sure if this list is complete. Most of the software on the database doesn't declare whether LLM's were used or not. However, out of the ones that do, here are the ones that say "Yes, LLM code was used."

Out of all of these, only one program that comes preloaded into new jailbreaks is affected: the save manager app, Checkpoint. Fortunately, JK's Save Manager is slop-free.

Also, Snes9x's updated fork is vibecoded, but the original version is not. Ignore the app icon that has a Super NES controller-- that's the slopcoded emulator. Use the one with the Super Famicom logo instead.

FourthTube's list of dependencies has FFmpeg and libcurl on it, both of which are now accepting slopcoded contributions to their core projects; however, a bit of digging shows that the 3DS implementations of these libraries are several commits out of date. I'm inclined to say FourthTube is still safe for this reason.

This is certainly not a complete list of 3DS slopbrew. Also, we can't preclude the possibility that other apps that used to be safe will be added to this list over time as their developers similarly turn off their brains and drink from the AI slop trough.
