Commercial Licensing & Commissions

All amounts given in United States dollars.

Commercial licensing for existing work.

Base cost of the album: $20.00
License fee (commercial): $2,000.00
License fee (non-profit): $80.00
Replacement copies of licensed album discs: $20.00 (proof of licensure required)

In order to insulate Itch.io from any potential disputes, the digital versions of my albums are not licenseable. To use my existing music in a commercial setting, you will need to buy a physical copy from me, thereby increasing the price (given the cost of the materials, plus postage).

Pay Once, Use Forever: The Way it Should Be
All licenses are royalty-free and perpetual (as long as you abide by the restrictions listed on this page). The licensing fee needs only be paid once in order for the album to be used forever.

When requesting a non-profit license, you will need to provide proof of your non-profit organisation status.

Shipping available within the continental United States only. All sales are final.

Commissioning new work.

Base commission fee: $547.64
Cost per hour of work: $1,000.00

The hourly cost can also be thought of as $16.67 per minute with an error margin of 20¢. Final cost of a new work is calculated using FL Studio's built-in timer. Please note that cost is based upon the time I spent working on the project, not how long it takes the project to play; a 30-second long song that I spent 1 hour composing will cost $1,000, not $8.33.

A full list of all studio resources is available upon request. If you specify a particular instrument that I don't have, I will search for a virtualised instance of it before seeking out a physical version. Virtual instruments must be compatible with Windows 7. New instruments will need to be paid for at the time they are requested. Please be aware that instruments, both physical and virtual, are non-refundable; so, if you absolutely need to have the sound of a Moog One, and your company decides they don't actually need new music after I've bought it, be prepared to live with the loss of $11,500.

Except for instruments, the commission itself is refundable. Details can be found in section 8 of the service contract.
