As I recall, last time I promised to mention something else that Mickey and Abby wanted to announce. At the time of writing, Mickey was pregnant![1] That was several days ago. Now, he and Abby are the proud parents of a girl they named Allison!
I could tell something was up after I noticed them having a deep conversation on the back steps of their house a while back. Shortly thereafter, Abby went to the observation tower and just stared up at the sky for a grand long while. Mickey, in the meantime, went to Tina's flat and had a long, chattery, excited talk with his friends. Also, the clothing shop suddenly started getting shipments of baby clothes.
Anyway, Abby has been reading recently about how babies can pick up on sign-language as early as 2 months, so she's practising signs like "hungry", "thirsty", "sleepy", "itchy", "hurt", "diaper", "up", "down", "play", and "music". They're confident they can use this method to obviate the Terrible 2's and give Allison a leg up when she starts school.
Incidentally, Riza recently discovered that, when babies grow up, they can become travellers, so I plan to let Allison travel the world when she's old enough. She found this out when gremlin and Waluigi had a baby, whom they named Waluigi II. So, if you should happen to meet Waluigi II from Hell Island, that's Riza's Mii's son. You know, since gremlin is trans, the implication here is that Waluigi had the baby. I can just imagine the Rule 34 now... the less said about that, the better.
Talking of travellers, I've had 5 travellers visit Greenweed Island in the month or so since I started playing the game. If any of these Miis sound familiar— like, you made them or you've had them visit your island— let me know on my Neocities profile! (Is this a thinly-veilled attempt to get you to create a website here? Yeah.)
I called Charlotte "squeaky", and I feel bad about that. I wasted a perfectly good message by putting in "ok w/e squeaky" instead of anything worthwhile. So, if you're the owner of paradise Island and you get that message, sorry. Feel free to tread on my foot if we ever meet in realspace. Anyway, Waluigi II, Allison, and Betty and JJ's future child are going to get sent out into the world to join all 5 of those travellers.
So, yes; Betty Wright married the Jay Leno impersonator earlier today. Surprisingly, Rue and Banshee also got married today. That was a bit out of the blue, especially since they only started dating this morning. Ever since the first wedding, there's been a flurry of romantic activity at the flats-- people confessing their feelings for each other, others getting their hearts broken, marriage proposals, all that kind of thing. 2 such incidents stand out.
Bob Gennaro wanted to declare his feelings for Linda Belcher, but she didn't respond to his invitation to the café. Instead, Bob spent 25 minutes sitting there drinking coffee. All told, he spent $32.87 on coffee that day and came away with nothing to show for it except a major caffeine crash and a broken heart. Eventually, he got over it and decided to try again later... unfortunately, it turned out that Linda was more interested in Wario. She asked him to go steady with her by presenting him with a geode, he agreed (since when has Wario turned down something shiny?), and Bob's heart broke into a million pieces. He skipped town rather than have to face them in public.
I guess I should have opened with this, because it concerns my girl, Tina. She fell for punk-rocker, Joey Bill Legweak, frontman of Pink Night, who she met during rehearsals at the concert hall. She asked him out for coffee as well (the café is a very popular location on Greenweed Island to profess your love for someone) and asked him straight out, "Do you want to be my boyfriend?" Well, as luck would have it, Miko Nakamura was sitting in the booth behind Tina and stopped the conversation. She, also, had come to the café to ask Joey Bill to be her boyfriend. Joey thought the whole thing was completely absurd and decided to go with Tina.
While disappointed, Miko didn't get very sad about it and ended up going out with Erwin Schrodinger instead. But, yeah. Tina's got together with someone now! I'll admit, I sort of wanted her to get with Rue or Ellie, but whatever makes her happy. Just because her realspace lookalike is gay doesn't mean she has to be, too... I guess.
That's certainly not the end of the Ballad of Greenweed Isle. Allison is going to grow up before too long and then she'll be off to see the world, which will probably involve coming back to visit every so often. If it works at all like the regular travelling system, she'll have to get passed back to me over NetPass, which could take quite some time, considering how many people in Mii Plaza are playing Tomodachi Life.
1 - Dramatisation. This is not The Sims, babies in this game just appear in their parents' houses.
