Tomodachi Life update #3: Love and marriage

First of all, Abby Liefeld and Mickey Stepson got together as girlfriend and boyfriend. It's interesting that the RNG decided to pair my trans girl with my trans guy, but that's just the way the random number generates. Anyway, after a disastrous first attempt with Gina, Abby jumped at the chance when Mickey asked her out to the café. Admittedly, his pickup line was a little strange...

Mickey tells Abby, I'm irresistable like the smell of fresh coffee in the morning.

...But it got the point across. Anyway, he and Abby had a fun-filled 2 days of significant-othership before she proposed to him on the Ferris wheel. Every wedding has its pitfalls, and in this case, it was a mixup in the clothing orders. For some reason, the wedding gown store sent a gown to Mickey and a tuxedo to Abby. They conceal their disappointment well...

Anyway, I'm being told that Mickey and Abby have something else to mention, but I'm going to leave that for update #4.

The wedding left a few villagers wondering things about their own lives...

Max staring off into the horizon at the beach. Polly aimlessly playing in the fountain. Steve Harvey sitting sadly on a sunny hillside in his raincoat and hat.

It hit pretty much everyone kind of hard. Everyone else is pretty much chronically single. It hit Steve Harvey a bit harder, though, because he'd had his eye on Mickey in the past. He even asked me once if he was a good match for him. That's interesting, though, because Steve is also a bit of a player on Riza's island. Charles Martinet had kind of an odd reaction, though. Already being Gremlin's boyfriend, he asked me one day shortly after the wedding if he should propose to her.

Chuck wondering if he should propose to Gremlin.

Gremlin is Riza's Mii, though, so I consulted her about it and here's the thing— she was getting a pretty big ick from the age gap between 26-year-old Gremlin and 50-year-old Chuck (I know he's 71 irl, but I couldn't remember that when I made him, so I just made him 50) to the point she wasn't entirely sure about their romantic relationship at all. Honestly, same. I tried to give him bad advice about where and how to ask her to go steady (I'd had the café thing go bad a couple times before), but well, it was what it was. Fortunately (or unfortunately as the case may be), Chuck just moved away (read as "I deleted him") before he could ask Gremlin to marry him. Gremlin, meanwhile, has completely forgotten about him and has gone back to working part-time at the interior design store and playing 3DS like nothing ever happened.

...Or, has she?

Also, it turns out Jay Leno was an impostor. It's not Jay Leno at all, but a professional Leno impersonator named John Leto.

John Leto without his Jay Leno disguise on.

That hasn't affected his relationship with Betty Newbie at all, though. In fact, Just today, they were seen walking along the beach. The thing is, Jay-- er, John wanted to propose to Betty, so I thought he needed to do it as himself, rather than as a washed-up old comedian. No word yet on David Letterman. He behaves pretty much like the real Dave would, but his whereabouts are being closely monitored. Also, it's pretty clear we have the real Steve Harvey living in Greenweed. The fact that Judge Steve Harvey and Family Feud are now being filmed on the 3rd floor of the Mii News building were pretty big clues about that.
