If using honey, and it has crystallised, heat about 2 cups of water in a small saucepan or in the microwave and set the honey jar into it so the crystallised portion is fully underwater. Let stand until the honey becomes smooth again.
In a soup bowl, mix together the honey, hot sauce, oil, and spices. Dredge chicken wings, chicken nuggets, or vegan chicken substitute in the sauce and cook as directed in either an air fryer or conventional oven. If you intend to deep-fry the chicken wings, do so first, then dredge fully-cooked wings in the sauce and let stand 3 minutes.
