Plot synopsis

Our feminine-presenting computer glitch has started a new job, but her "Work Target" is obscured by smoke. In Chapter 1, ENA must locate the Genies in order to stop the never-ending plumes of cigarette smoke that are choking up her manager.

Review

That plot synopsis defines the only recurring plot point. This game is basically 1.4 GB of "What the Fuck?", which will fry your brain if you attempt to approach it logically. You will encounter mindbending cutscenes, purple fluid that digests you, holographic munchkins, and even a brief moment where ENA manifests as a real girl. People who are familiar with the videos will find a lot of references to them, including being able to wander around the plains before Auction Day.

Anyway, if you are familiar with the videos, it's pretty clear who the Boss is going to be. Rating. Yes, right. Gamelog.

9/10, would recommend. I mean, why not? It's surprisingly accessible, despite being sort of creepy for people who aren't prepared for the surreal nature of ENA. There's no system of lives, no scorekeeping, no permadeath, no death of really any kind. What would appear to kill ENA often leads her down a different path instead. What narrative there is makes sense if you subvert your expectations a bit. Assuming a Bathroom is not a room with a toilet in it, what else could that term refer to? The 9/10 rating is due mostly to the awkward control scheme for gamepads. The left thumbstick is locked to "Forward/Backward and Strafe", rather than "Forward/Backward and Turn" as I've become accustomed to, playing James Bond shooters since the Nintendo 64.
