The reason I haven't written anything new in my Game Log is, I'm still playing New Leaf and SMAS+W. I'm running parallel games in All-Stars + World; one on the 3DS, one on the PC. I decided last week sometime that Super Mario Bros. 1 and Super Mario World are more properly played on the TV. The reason is, I can't work out how to control both controllers on the 3DS and I like playing SMB1 with both Mario and Luigi. I take all the shortcuts as Mario and I go the scenic route with Luigi. That's easier to do on the computer. Whereas, Super Mario Bros. 2 and 3 can just be played anywhere, so I do that on my 3DS.
The 3DS is the only place I can play New Leaf, though. Oh, sure, I grabbed the last available version of Citra before Nintendo shut them down, but I can't run it because somehow none of my graphics cards are Vulkan-compatible. That's partially why I jailbroke my 3DS! Anyway, I've actually developed quite a routine around this game. I start playing once the Nooklings' shop is open at 08:00; I have a look round there, then I buy a fortune cookie for 2 Play Coins (AT LAST! I can use the 300 I've accumulated by walking with my 3DS and I have a reason to get more!) and redeem the fortune for whatever bit of Nintendo-themed stuff they have. Then I do a once-over for collectibles; fossils, bugs, that kind of thing. While I hate to disturb Blathers while he's sleeping, then I take my fossils to the Museum and have him assess them— at this stage, I've started getting a lot of dupes, so he tends to give them back. I think I've caught all the unique bugs and fish available in Westfold (my town) at this time of the year, so I take everything else back to my house and stash it all in the dresser until Re-Tail opens and I can sell it for top bell to Reese. Next, I visit Harvey's RV campground, have a look at his shop, and visit the daily caravan. Then, I sit in front of the fire for awhile (it's COLD in Westfold this time of year, you know!) and close my 3DS to do some work on this website or scroll through Tumblr or something.
By then, it's usually around 08:45, so I visit Tortimer Island and take several of the tours. I like the "catch-and-release" style games, because I can nick the fruit growing on the trees around there. Yeah, I'm thinkin' of starting my own market... someday. In the meantime, whatever grocer Reese sells my fruit to is absolutely rollin' in it. That's the thing I have to remember whenever I start feeling guilty for taking all of Re-Tail's money by selling sometimes as much as 25.000 bells' worth of stuff to them at a time. Westfold's train station does goods, too; Reese is constantly shipping out all the stuff I bring to her to grateful buyers all over the country! Why, I'm singlehandedly keeping 3 grocery stores and 5 museums afloat just by selling things at Re-Tail! Anyway, sometimes there's a fun item for sale in the gift shop; right now, I'm trying to assemble a "Hawkeye Pierce" ensemble, beginning with the Blue Aloha Shirt; but usually there isn't. It's usually well past 09:00 by the time I'm through on the island, so I take all the stuff I gathered there to Re-Tail, then I get the stuff I stashed in my dresser and sell it next. Whatever I make from sales goes to whatever public works project I'm trying to fund at the time. Right now, it's the Dream Suite. Before, it was a suspension bridge. Next, it'll probably be an improvement to my house; in The Sims terms, my house is only a 4x4 square.
The next thing to wait for is the Able Sisters' shop to open at 10:00. No matter how much I want to continue playing at that point, I'll go back to my house and sit down and watch TV, save and quit, and let my 3DS charge on the charming (if atypical) charging dock that came with it. I like using the charger dock instead of plugging the cable directly into the 3DS, because it's that feeling of compatibility that is so important to children's developing sense of fine motor control and autistic adult brains alike. Then, I start doing work, which I'll carry on with for the total running time of 1 playlist (usually around 45 minutes to an hour and 15 minutes). Then, it's an hour-long coffee break and New Leaf time. Then work again. And so I go. It's the best routine I've had since my last office job.
Relative to the game log, I just started a new file in EarthBound, so look for that at some point.
