Oh well, it's not like I can go scorched-earth with Devo like I did with Hairy Pothole. Imitating Devo is like 40% of my musical style. But like, what do you expect from a man whose winery's logo was a swastika and its name was a Hitlerian reference to the Code of Hammurabi? Or who wrote lyrics and essays that included the phrase "New World Order"? And whose wedding cake was shaped like the World Trade Centre towers (ok, that one was kinda funny though). Also, he's older than Donald Trump and he did a lot of coke back in the '80s, so there's a pretty good chance Krista Casale is going to end up inheriting his show-biz fortune soon.

DON'T DO THE COPS' WORK FOR THEM. I don't want to see 1 single person on this host talk about going to no-kings protest. Whether you went or not is irrelevant. The cops are using all possible vectors to identify and arrest protestors. If someone asks you if you went to a protest, you say, "what are you, a cop?"

And, if you did go to a protest, and you took your phone with you, you better leave your phone at home and start running 'cos the cops will be knocking down your door real soon.

Me and R were texting at the same time her phone was dying. I don't know exactly why, but it felt like I was shouting my last words to her as her train was pulling out before I never saw her again. I even said "in case you lose your screen altogether, I love you 💛", as though she was going to forget me when her phone screen became unresponsive. It's interesting how humans do that, isn't it? When faced with the possibility of separation, we say the things that are making our hearts overflow and damn the consequences. Like, I often tell R that I love her, but this was a "last words" situation, so that changed how it felt to me.
But, she isn't gone. Neither of us is about to get our head cut off or whatever. We still have other ways of communicating, plus she's gonna get a new phone at some point. Still, it felt like her train was pulling out of the station and I was running alongside with the end of the platform coming up fast.

I've been slowly replacing all my old ROM collections in my datahoard with some from different sources. They seem to work better so far, but I'm not gonna test every single solitary one, because that's something like 15k games. I'm going to assume that, with some reasonable margin of error (since no human-curated database can ever be perfect), some correlation of the 15 Essentials lists and the old Nintendo Virtual Console rosters is the best sampling of how well this new database works relative to the old no-intro collections on the Internet Archive. The fact that Super Castlevania IV on SNES and Sonic 1 on Mega Drive were corrupt/had bad checksums should have been an immediate red flag, but nope! I carried on anyway. Oh well, I'm just glad I could get this mistake fixed before all the world's governments immerse the Internet in a vat of industrial corrosives.

This outfit is super cute, but I'm realising that I've been spending all my effort (and money) on tops and bottoms, and none on shoes. My only pair of shoes DOES NOT work with this fit, or really any other fit that doesn't involve spanx.

I was really hoping that The Sims Legacy Edition and its pirate repacks would usher in a new era in Sims 1 modding. But we hit the generational divide pretty quick insofar as none of the tools work anymore because their dependencies got axed 20 years ago and there's no way to edit Windows 10 or 11 to make them work because Microsoft decided in Windows 8 that people were too stupid to make their own decisions about how to use their computers. Someone needs to just rebuild Transmogrifier and Art Studio and Homecrafter and all that shit from the ground up. I'm lucky because I still use Windows 7, which I've modified with files from my Windows XP laptop, so I can still run all those old tools, but you literally cannot install old DLL's and shit into Windows 11. So, there's no way to make them work afaik.

I know i'm always the one who says, "you come first, your site comes last; take care of yourself first and, when you come back, we'll still be here", but I feel I'm neglecting the site. For a start, my sleep schedule has fallen into the shit pit again and all attempts to reset have failed. Also, a friend of mine is potentially looking at a breakup with her boyfriend and I've been trying to help her through it. On the other hand, at least I got some super cute outfits from the thrift shop the other week. I love my halter dress and that pink v-neck has definite possibilities. I need to wash my sweaters though, because the temps are cooling off and I'm in love with the idea of standing out on my porch in the north wind, wearing my sweater, spanx, and hi-tops and holding a cup of tea, just looking at the colours on the trees 🍁😊🍂

i've been awake now for over 24 hours. how am i still able to function? over the past 2 days, i was running on 4 hours sleep with 6 hours activity, and then i got 6 hours last night... er, 2 nights ago, and I thought "oh good, we can reset". I stood a pretty good chance of sleeping for 6 more hours yesterday, but something happened after i slept for half an hour and i've been awake ever since. well, except for falling asleep for about 10 minutes earlier tonight. ugh. this is not healthy, gamers. the worst part of it is, i have no food in the house and i need regular hours in order to go to the store. because late-stage capitalism, the stores stopped staying open 24 hours after the pandemic lockdown was lifted 1000 years ago, so i'm straight up fucked.

Last year at this time, the high temperature where I live only got into the high 60's fahrenheit (20s centigrade). Today, the high temperature is supposed to get to 91°F/32°C. Also at this time last year, we had a do-nothing democrat as our president while his vice-president kept shooting herself in the foot everytime she opened her mouth at a campaign rally. Whether or not we would be better off right now with her in office is purely academic at this stage and debating that is a waste of time.
