i wish my wii hdmi adapter would just get here already so i can carry on with the jailbreak. i mean i CAN use the component outputs for this but i guess i just dont want to use it anymore. also i think the problem i was having with the wii not starting up might be IOS related, since it behaves very much like a banner brick, but i can work around it by booting into the homebrew channel, then exiting to the wii menu from there. i still have priiloader to install, as well as open shop channel and a couple of other things. but i don't imagine im going to get my adapter until the 2nd week of december. you know, christmas shopping and all that; it puts a lot of strain on the online stores and delivery companies. it does look very much like im going to need another usb hdd.

I love watching Twitter buttons slowly drop away from large websites. Most just replaced their Twitter button with an X button, but the effect of seeing any reference to a Xitter presence just disappear has the opposite effect as seeing a Tesla trundle down the road. Why the hell does the zoo think it can charge $30 gd dollars just for people to come in and look at 10 miles of LED lights? Back in the day, it was $5 for kids, $10 for adults, and had C9 incandescent bulbs and they gave off so much heat it felt good in the cold. Plus, hot cocoa was free. Now you need a special ticket addon that costs $10 to be eligible--ELIGIBLE, to be ELIGIBLE for shit like cocoa and s'mores. Fuck this gentrified ass city.

I'm so glad I don't hold my music in contempt anymore. I remember telling my mum's cousin once in 2012 that "I hold all my music in equal contempt". I don't know why I hated my own work so much, but to this day I have trouble listening to any of my old stuff from back then. Thankfully, I've learned how to accept my composing ability as a talent rather than a burden, to the point I'm not only able to select personal favourites, but I have difficulty selecting only 1. If this is vanity, I don't care. If my extended family are all jealous of my ability to write music and play the piano, that's their problem, not mine.

I think the only way i'm gonna be able to keep myself sane over the next 4-60 years is to pretend like nothing is happening. Back in 2016, I was full of satire and sarcasm and contempt and i was making memes about trump, I was coming up with new malapropism to use instead of his name, and I was generally able to be cutting and clever and basically trump's harshest critic. This time, I can't do any of that. My satire gland dried up and blew away. I'm going to avoid reading, listening to, or watching news; I'm even going to avoid Wikipedia's homepage and use Firefox to search the website directly. Any news I accidentally happen across is going to be basically from Tumblr and HackerNews only. Is this healthy? Not in the least. But it's the only thing I've got left.

I accidentally fell asleep reading about the 1997 Ocarina of Time overdump on tcrf and dreamt about vast plains of incomplete data. It was as though I lived in Hyrule's 3D proof of concept but I had no house. I was the land itself except when I was trying to figure out how to solve a puzzle when the correct tools hadn't been invented yet. I panicked when i realised there were no exits defined for the Stalactite Cave and I reflexively turned off the computer. I woke up when the world got converted into square waves playing a slow sample-and-hold, which turned out to be how my brain decided to interpret a car stereo out in the carpark.

The most braindead take on the whole internet right now is that image synthesisers like DALL-E are somehow helpful for disabled people to make their own art. "Oh, isn't it so great? AI art helps people with decrepit little bodies make their very first art in their entire miserable lives!" And then, they have the audacity to call criticism of their take "ableist". Disabled people; viz. amputees, developmentally disabled people, paralysed people, people with degenerative illnesses; all across time have been able to make art—get this—without the use of IP-distilling image synthesisers. Some of the harshest critics of AI art that I personally know are disabled, and for good reason. Just because they can't hold a Wacom stylus like you would if you could be arsed to pick one up doesn't mean they can't art. Guy loses his arms, so he holds his paintbrush in between his toes, makes art. Other guy can't hold a pencil because of a neurological disorder, he starts making landscapes with a typewriter, makes art. Look for ableism from within, dumbass.

That police car that just sped by has a faulty siren. You're not supposed to be able to HEAR the low-frequency triangle wave, all it's supposed to do is carry the higher-pitched tones over greater distances. If you can hear it, then it's too high to be useful. Moreover, I don't think the whitenoise generator was working either; emergency car sirens use white noise to prevent sound deflection; i.e. you can tell what direction it's coming from, it doesn't bounce off so many obstacles that it sounds like it's coming from somewhere else. If I didn't know it was on the main arterial, I'd have sworn it was going by to the south of here. Oh well, I guess they spent all that extra funding on LRADs and protest dispersal, they couldn't afford basic stuff like sirens.

Last night I had a dream that Shaquille O'Neal was a MrBeast-style internet celebrity who had a game show that you couldn't opt-out of. If Shaq showed up and started snapping his fingers at you, you were fucked and you could never get rid of him because people he selected as contestants never quit playing the game until they died. If you lost, he would clap your head between his hands, and there was an NPR story about people complaining because their kids had their hearing ruined by his clapping. I had this odd sense of surface-level dread all throughout the dream, as though I was about to see someone's head get chopped off. My morning oestradiol alarm woke me up as Shaq was approaching me snapping his fingers and I was just about to pull the trigger on my silenced pistol to get rid of him. I wonder what any of that means? Maybe I should stop eating yoghurt before bed?

ngl, spuds, i was thinking about how best to kill myself earlier today. but, it turns out, i'm reaching people. at least 2 sites that i know of have links to my dephoning guide, and people are using AISUCKS.PNG, to say nothing of my How to Use a Computer guide that at least 1 person is using as a reference guide in their computer-literacy class. Someone who contributed to my ko-fi even said they were "a big fan" of my music. I never thought I could reach even 1 person, but 135 people are following me on Neocities, so that means that at least this many real live actual people have been to this site and decided it was good enough to follow! if we're talking about reaching people, 15.000+ people on tumblr are raving about a graphic design project i did in 20 minutes in powerpoint back in 2017, and NITS.JPG is regular rotation with the "pro tip: don't email your professor when you're seriously sick" post on tumblr as well. i've never met ANY of these people, but the fact that they'd notice if i were gone... that hit me harder than the election results. I'm real, i exist, and i've affected people's lives in some way. how can i kill myself knowing that?

Trump hardliners are gonna shout "they're taking so long because they're changing millions of votes", but like, do you KNOW how much time it takes to count every single ballot? Not just the ones from the ballot boxes, but the ones from the drop boxes and the post too? It's gonna take real actual days to get it all in here. Just make sure yours is one of the ones they count, which you can do by going to the polling place and voting. It's not gonna get lost, it's not gonna get tampered with, it's not gonna get burned up in a dropbox arson. Vote because I very nicely asked you to.

The thing i find the most infuriating about Shaquille O'Neal's statement of support for Israel isn't the statement itself so much as the fact that he was paid to make it. Shaq doesn't have any opinions about Israel or Palestine or the Nakba or antisemitism or any of that shit, he's a pitchman. Whatever he was in the past, now he's just the Black version of Billy Mays. He doesn't care about Israel any more than Billy Mays cared about Oxi-Clean. Someone prepared a statement, showed Shaq a fat staq and had him read it for a camera. And this is how it is across the board! Even people running for public office! The defence contractors are donating handsomely to everyone's re-election campaigns, so of course they're going to make public statements in support of the conquest of Gaza. That's the most maddening thing next to the extermination itself—no one actually cares enough about the situation to have their own opinions about it, they just read from scripts that were written by evangelists, colonisers, and warmongers, and everyone eats it up with the rest of the prolefeed. No thought is involved at any stage of the process.
