I guess I need to stop being surprised by this kind of thing. Amazon delivery drivers can't sing along with playlists, talk on the phone, yawn, or even pant without the driver camera automatically registering a disciplinary report for "distracted driving". They also have to wear wristbands that monitor their location and make sure they stay on schedule and don't stray too far from their van. Amazon is teasing a system where all their delivery drivers need to have an Amazon Echo so Alexa can verify if they're sick or not when they request time off. We're far beyond "dystopia" at this point. This is a 1990s-era satire of capitalism. I guess I need to stop being surprised by this kind of thing and start to become sickened by it instead. Surprise isn't really an appropriate response.

it feels like this month has lasted 12 years. it's hard to believe that it hasnt even been a week since riza and i bought our first plants. today was only riza's 2nd full 8-hour shift at work. i miss them so much during the day. at this time last week they didn't even have a job. 2 weeks ago, i dont even remember what was happening, my brain has turned to a cottony fluff. at least there's a record of what i was doing last month, i was setting up the sims revisited. if i hadnt made that post i would probably have forgotten that i have that site already. plus it's so hot and humid out, that extends the day length from 24 hours to 144 hours right there. it feels like ive aged 5 years in the past 36 hours.

riza has been reading websites about how best to care for fresh mint plants and they were pruning off leaves that showed signs of temperature stress (which tbf there were a lot of considering the grocery store was leaving them outside in the heat to basically burn up into nothing). in their words they were "babying" the plants and, tbph, i have never been more attracted to someone as i am right now. we're going to make great plant-mums, i can just tell. anyway mint's ideal growing condition is 65-78°F and you should wait to harvest until there's ~4in of plant

Knights of Guinevere huh? Imagine an ace girl and a transmasc find V2 Ultrakill and fix her up.
Also, Gameoverse's music. Like, i heard that tritone chord progression during the interstitial music and went, "Huh, Grant Kirkhope?" Looked it up on Wikipedia and yep, Grant Kirkhope.

gotta love how there are basic service jobs you can't even apply for until you commit at least $200 of your own money to licensure. for some reason, the coffeeshop i was applying to requires a liquor license. they don't even sell bog standard ale there. plus in this state, you need an appointment to take the food handler's permit test online. an APPOINTMENT for an ONLINE TEST. it's a genuine quandary how anyone in this state has a job at all.

everything else going on, i totally forgot to mention this: I'm dephoned now! My smartphone is now not a phone and my new phone is a featurephone intended for old people. The only thing I DON'T like about my new phone is it's running a stripped down version of Android 12, so it still transmits an advertising ID, but unlike my smartphone, I don't get to see what it is. I was also hoping to have a phone I could finally take selfies with, but.... android 12. Also, I'm not forgetting that my old smartphone is still controlled by Google and Samsung, even though Verizon doesnt get to see what i'm doing on it anymore. but i guess since im not concerned about the carrier anymore, i could root it and see what legacy version of linux phone I could replace android with. maybe that would be a good thing because riza helped me to see that i'm sort of fossilised around my old technology. it's just that i REALLY LIKE being able to draw on the screen with the bluetooth pen and i dont want to endanger that by just throwing random FLOSS operating systems onto my note8.

when tomadachi life 2 got released, i figured no one would ever play the 3DS version ever again. i figured it was going to be a switch2 killer app and everyone would delete their emulators and throw their 3DSes into the bin and rush away to spend almost $1000 on a game console, game, and NSO+EP subscription. but it seems i was wrong about that. since living the dream came out, i've actually seen playership of tomodachi life 1 GO UP. basically every 2 miis in the plaza declare they've been playing tomodachi life lately. everytime i refresh netpass, i get 10 more imports from people's islands. i dont claim to say that TL1 is more popular than LTD, but like. at least SOME people are able to say "newer aint always better, spud".

did you know that riza is an amazing cook? these are some of the best stirfry noodles i've ever had. riza has done so much for my culinary outlook over the past few months they've been here, starting with beyond beef which is just the best fuckin thing. apparently their parents wouldn't touch that stuff, but they can do absolute magic with it.
