i haven't written a single new song so far this year. not a long one, not a short one. not so much as a ringtone. i'm following people on neocities and tumblr who have done literal dozens of drawings; sketches, icons, pixel stuff, slick digital paintings, whatever; in the same amount of time it's taken me to sit here and not write music. i don't think it's fair of me to call myself a "composer" anymore. that would require, at the minimum, composing a song. but my fat ass hasn't written a damn thing since "d to the 3rd power". AND THAT WAS BACK IN FUCKING DECEMBER. oh i can give you a litany of excuses for why i haven't done anything, but none of that is relevant. the point is i can't call myself an artist anymore because i'm apparently too bone fucking idle to even play the goddamned piano for my own self.

i can't relate to whites who say they're "afraid" around groups of black people. black folks mind their business, they're not gonna come after you. me personally, i'm afraid of groups of white men. especially groups of white men who all look basically the same: sunglasses, goatees, kinda 5'8" and stocky. why did i say any of that? i just saw 4 guys matching this description, one of them was wearing a cowboy hat, and the others were wearing quite probably Trump hats, walking across the carpark at home, and I was terrified. but i knew i was probably safe as long as I kept my deck door shut. i'm MORE afraid for the first non-white person to cross their path. these 4 guys looked exactly the kind who would decide they didn't like you and shoot you in the head.

I decided what to do with my 2DS now that I've jailbroken it. I gave it to my mum! I got her hooked on The Urbz back in 2012 by accident and she'd been playing my game card copy on my DS Classic, at least until the battery started wanting to turn into a spicy balloon a couple years back. Since I've been playing my ROM copy, I decided just to give the game card and the 2DS to her; also, she's been using a web app to play Solitaire on her phone so I offered to put Klondike Solitaire onto her 2DS; I used the EU-only multicart 3-in-1: Solitaire, Mahjong, Tangram because it was easy to find and she is LIVING. She also requested a sudoku program, fortunately that was a VERY popular subject for DSiWare, so that won't be a problem. Ahh, it feels good to have my 2DS prospering as well as my 3DS has :D

Hey, guess what? It's the 10th anniversary of Majora's Mask 3D! A lot of games had milestone anniversaries lately: The Sims 4 turned 10 in September, The Sims 1 turned 25 earlier this month, Doom turned 30 a couple years ago, the Nintendo 64 is going to turn 30 next year, other stuff like that. Majora's Mask 3D wasn't as groundbreaking as its N64 original version, but I'm recognising its decennial anyway because of my jailbroken 3DS and the fact I just finished my very first play-through of it a couple months ago. It's in the "Zelda" folder on my 3DS homescreen right now, alongside Ocarina of Time 3D (14 years old), A Link Between Worlds (12 years old), and the NTR forwarders for Phantom Hourglass (17 years old) and Spirit Tracks (15 years old).

The snow hasn't been falling very quickly, but it kept the same steady rate as yesterday afternoon all throughout the evening and now there's about 2" of snow on the ground. The weather service is still estimating 2-4 inches of additional snowfall today until it tapers off tonight and stops altogether. The school system closed today, I suspect not because it was snowing but because it was cold. An hour ago, we hit the overnight low temperature of 4°F. What is this, Weather on the 8s? I got nothin' to talk about.

i swear that the online welfare forms are specially-designed to make people feel like they're committing perjury. while it's not as bad as the literacy test that the south used against black people trying to vote, it reminds me of it. i feel like the only reason this is here is so they can find tiny small reasons why i'm a freeloader trying to take food out of the mouths of the rich. i hate the word "household". i'm my own household, my roommate is her own household, we're 2 households in 1 apartment. this is enough to raise red flags in the state computer system so they always press me about that in the phone interview. the whole procedure always makes me feel like i'm half an inch tall.

I just got my ass handed to me at Giant Step in Earthbound. See, my strategy of wandering around and picking fights with the Sharks worked... against the Sharks. I didn't see the Titanic Ant's 2 black-antoid wingmen resupplying his health and I didn't have enough FP to do PSI Rockin α because of a previous fight against a swarm of attack slugs. By the time I got round to eating the pizza that a Skate Punk dropped yesterday, I got my ass handed to me titanically. Did I remember to save a game state before climbing that last rope? Of course I didn't! Now I have to start over from in front of my house.

I had a doctor's appointment yesterday at a place i've never gone before. I mentioned when I set up the appointment that my preferred name was "Tina" and also explained why, and wouldn't you know it? They didn't have any problem with that. From word 1, they called me Tina. The doctor even called me "dear"! Of course, I think he was adjusting to the mismatch between my clothes and my name, but he never cringed or pretended like I was making a joke. No one ever decided it was better for their morals if they called me by my deadname at any point from the time I walked in to the time I walked out. I would have loved to wear my new clothes, but the trousers were just way too big. Also, the subsidised transport I have to use is run by evangelicals, so I can't risk the driver jumping ship and driving away without me, because the insurance company and the DOT would side with them, not me. Anyway, it was nice to be treated like a woman for a while. When I got back home, I wrote in my hidden diary page, then played New Leaf until the fact I'd been awake for 22 hours caught up with me. Then I slept for 11 hours.

Neocities feels like it's on the brink of becoming a ghost town. The guy who runs the host, Kyle Drake, hasn't come down definitively on one side or the other of generative AI, but he HAS opened a backdoor for himself to escape through in case the hammer comes down: he said he is not "anti-AI" and compared people who guard against having their data scraped to "tinfoil hat crazy". That sounds a lot like what spez said after he locked the Reddit API behind a paywall; something about the "landed gentry", and "not anti-AI" is the free-internet version of "free speech absolutism". It's what old-web enthusiasts say to give themselves carte blanche; "well, I SAID this service wouldn't be anti-AI." It won't affect this site very much, but there are people who shut down their dA, Artfight, and even Patreon profiles to move their art here because they thought it would be safe from censorship and model-training. There are engineers on this host who upload their specs and share their code and methodology who are in imminent danger of having all that hoovered up when Kyle takes the impending government subsidy to host OpenAI services on Neocities. Where do you run now? Gopherspace. That's it. The HTTP web is dead.

The senate has the votes to remove Trump from office. I'm sure that'll happen, just as soon as my boobs grow 8 cup sizes and I get childbearing hips. Like, obviously, don't hold your breath. Even if the majority swings blue at the midterms (which still aren't for a year yet), the democrats won't do it. They want so badly to look egalitarian by "reaching across the aisle" that they've let their do-nothing president exhaust his term and will let Adolf Trump walk all over them. "You don't campaign to impeach a sitting president," they said in 2018. Oh yeah? Tell that to all the republicans that ran from 2010-2022 whose platform included impeaching Obama or Biden. What I'm getting at is, don't expect a corrupt system to fix itself.

Kapp'n is starting to get REALLY personal with me while he ferries me to and from Tortimer Island. Like, this morning, he asked me if I'd had any kids. The other day he said he said I had beautiful eyelashes. It's no wonder his wife eats all his junk food, he's too busy hitting on his passengers. One of these days, he's gonna pretend to shipwreck us so he can make a pass at me, just like Upskirt Kurt from Bob's Burgers. That is, if he doesn't shipwreck us for real, staring at my eyelashes instead of paying attention to his heading.
