ACNL: Office/House progress report

Well, a picture is worth a thousand words, so let's have a look at some pictures, shall we?

Mayor Tina sitting at her home-office workstation. Standing in the break area.

The interior décor consists of the Modern Wall and a carpet pattern I drew myself, inspired by the Panel Carpet floor. I also drew that motivational poster on the wall behind the rolling-desk. I was watching The Joy of Painting at the time, so that informed the "mountain lake" motif quite a bit. The motivational message says "FNORD -- --- - ---- - --". In the break room is the only surviving piece of furniture from the first iteration of my house: Curly gave me that table after he came over one day back in December. All the other furniture got cleared out and replaced, but the table remains... at least until I can find a better table. I usually keep Wisp's magic lamp on the table's accessible tile so I can summon villagers to the Campground.

Not pictured here is the sleeping area. There's a Minimalist Bed there right now, but I'm considering summoning Jacob to the Campground so I can buy a cardboard bed from him. You know, real "Nintendo R&D1 in 1986" hours here. I still need several filing cabinets and cardboard boxes... unfortunately, I don't think the game has a stack of boxes in its files anywhere.

Incidentally, did you know how valuable Pavé-themed furniture is? During Festivale, I kept finding rainbow feathers, so Pavé kept giving me stuff. I already had a Pavé couch because it fit with the loose "late 1950s/mid-1960s" theme I had going before the office. Imagine my surprise when I go to resell the sofa, drawers, lamp, and endtable at Re-Tail and Reese offers me 48.000 bells for it all! Considering I only had to spend 3 MEOW coupons to get the sofa and Pavé himself gave me everything else gratis. Knowing what I do about Nintendo as a business, I'd estimate the insane value is the result of a programming oversight. And, since they never released another patch after v.1.5, it never got corrected. Well, the next time I need money, I'll know where to look!

Anyway, I'll maintain the office look until I'm bored of it and then carry on to something else. We'll see what we can do with the mall food-court angle at that point, probably. Or, I forgot that I had been considering doing a backyard motif at one point. Well, whatever. Like I said, we'll see. I do want to get the office finished to my liking first before I go off and design a new space that requires I sell all my furniture again.
