I'm sure I have other references to it scattered about my site, so if you find them, you can ignore them.

I've been watching Star Trek (namely TOS, TNG, DS9, VOY, and ENT) my entire adult life. And, you want to know something?

It's never sat right with me that photon torpedoes have nothing to do with photons. I mean, they emit light as part of a controlled matter/antimatter explosion, but they otherwise have nothing to do with photons. Especially in a universe where everything is quickly explainable, we're still calling our matter/antimatter warheads "photon torpedoes".

I submit that there was a pre-Federation defence contractor called Photon Group (because money is explicitly part of the original series's universe). After Enterprise NX-01's mission, Photon Group developed new weapons to take care of all the bad guys that NX-01 kept stumbling upon, and they hit upon a small-scale warp core explosion, contained in a 6-foot long missile. When the Federation was founded, Starfleet acquired Photon Group under Section 30 of the charter, and the torpedoes became colloquially known as "Photon torpedoes", because captains and tactical officers had to distinguish between the regular Starfleet merculite torpedoes and the Photon antimatter torpedoes.

Please note, if the naming conventions behind photon torpedoes were explained in one of the retconny new series, I wouldn't know because I've never seen any of that lot and I have no plans of doing so.

i'm really worried about riza's and my mutual friend. his parents constantly abuse, manipulate, and gaslight him over tiny little stuff like not wanting to get sick when they bring home some kind of germ, and now he's basically been forced into this rehab programme he didn't want to go to because there were no other options. the programme isn't doing anything except teaching him how everything that his parents have ever done to him is his fault actually because "oh if you weren't a bad person, they wouldn't be doing bad things to you". yeah, fuck that neo-evangelist shite up the arse and back 10 ways 'til doomsday. saying that he's on his last nerve is like saying that someone holding onto the last 3 inches of rope for dear life can still be dragged around some more.

more and more i'm realising that THIS is why disability pride month exists. especially now that donald treason and four-humours kennedy are looking into how best to institutionalise a quarter of a billion disabled people at taxpayers' expense. there's already something like 10 million people with physical and/or mental disabilities being institutionalised, most of whom are there against their will. their agency as humans has been stripped away from them and put in the control of a succession of people who drive fancy cars, each passing their case off like it's a neverending game of four-square, syphoning money away before kicking them to the kerb and pretending they never existed.

don't let's lose sight of 1 indisputable fact: this was a problem LONG before donald trump was ever anything more than a name on a hotel. from the dawn of capitalism, disabled people have been written off as burdens on society and placed in institutions to rot. in the middle ages, you would get sent to an asylum where nuns would hit you with sticks as friars preached how disease is punishment. in the modern day, your parents send you up the rehab programme that costs $500 a day where the psychologists tell you how much pain and anguish you've brought to your parents by being so disobedient.

if you take nothing else away from disability pride month, take this: neither "disabled" nor "neurodivergent" are synonyms for "worthless".

as for our friend? i'm trying to remind him that he isn't doing his parents wrong by simply existing. if anyone should be apologising for anything, it's his parents for treating him like this for so many years. but they won't do that. they had better hope i don't ever meet them, because I WILL hold them accountable, quite possibly against a wall in an alleyway with my car's high-beams.

it must be that time of the month again, gamers. yesterday, i had a migraine. this morning, i felt so tired that i didn't get out of bed until noon. now, i'm feeling totally emotionless. at some point, i'm gonna start crying at seemingly nothing, then i'll start cramping and that'll be a whole thing for about 3 days. don't let anyone tell you trans girls don't get PMS cos we absolutely do.

I have been consistently stuck in TADC since 19th June. I don't know if that's good or bad. I mean, it's inspired me to write and draw, so that's good. But I'm kind of ignoring everything else. I haven't played The Sims for that whole amount of time, made a single new piece of TS1 CC, or drawn anything in Swapnote that isn't Jax. Well, not everything else... I have been playing Ultrakill pretty extensively. i just can't make it past level 17 on cybergrind, which is kind of humiliating considering Riza is on, what, level 25? And we've been playing this game for the same amount of time?

Anyway, I've found a decent place to start part 5, plus it'll facilitate the story's end. I know I said on my Neocities profile that I figure on 6 or 7 parts to this, but I'm ending it after 5. The stuff I had planned for parts 6 and 7 would be better off in their own stories.

even though i love the jax plushie that riza got for me, i think at this stage that if i want anymore tadc merch, im gonna need to make it myself. even if that means getting a 3D printer and model paint and learning how to build ball-and-socket joints. based on their recent advert, glitch can't be trusted with jax anymore. they're marketing to the 1 girl i saw at hot topic wearing a gryffindor backpack who was buying a pomni figurine, not the 1000s of actual trans girls who were actually watching the show.

also, come on. $5 for a sticker? 1 sticker? come the fuck on. i could spend $5 on 1 single sticker or i could spend $20 on a pack of mailing labels and an x-acto knife and just print my own gd stickers.

but yeah, based on the fact there was a girl wearing a piece of Hairy Pothole merch buying a piece of merch from a show that's demonstrably 80% queer, there's enough tonedeaf people out there to make glitch a few fat stacks before this is over.

before you start saying "gay pride month is over, now it's time for gay wrath month", remember that july is disability pride month. able-bodied people can identify how we contribute to ableism and anti-disability discrimination in amongst various other esoteric things.

but also consider that TGLB+ people and disabled people are in the same boat, in the US anyway. donald treason and four-humours kennedy are trying to institutionalise every disabled person at the same time that they're trying to force gay people into christofascist conversion therapy and force trans people to detransition by making HRT components extremely expensive and medicaid impossible to get unless you're aged 75. now imagine that you're trans and disabled. i know 3 such people. we all have targets on our backs, so don't throw your disabled brothers, sisters, and nonbinary siblings under the bus just because the month ticked over.

Since Sean Chiplock is starring in a new Bubsy game, someone needs to make a new Gex game starring Michael Kovach. The last level is the Videogame Dimension where Gex has to spring Bubsy from the dimension as well, then the last image after the staff roll finishes is the furry art Sean commissioned last year. You know, the one I wrote the song about?

Why does the voice of N and Jax need to be Gex? Well, because it'd be fun. Also, he sounds enough like Dana Gould to pull it off.

Of course, now that I've said any of that, I need to mention that I hereby release this idea into the public domain, so you can make this and not need to worry about me suing you for IP infringement.

so, some context for that comic from yesterday. joyflameball @ tumblr said "Shoutout to tgirl Jax art that does not change her proportions at all. That girl is a rectangle and it's awesome". When i saw that post 2 days ago, i basically immediately started storyboarding that comic in my head. Because yeah, lot of emphasis is put on bigger boobs when you transition. well, transitioning is not going to make most girls get DDD+. Honestly, some girls don't even care about their bustline, just as long as they can look, dress, and act feminine. i figured, jax is one of those girls. She's probably developed this whole alternative sense of balance in the Circus so she can pull off all that Looney Tunes stuff and, right. big boobs are going to alter that balance. at first, it was just going to be jax talking to someone, probably pomni, and that was kept, but i decided later on that we needed someone else in the background. at first it was going to be ragatha, but as i was taking screengrabs for references, i paused on a bit where gangle's arms are curled into perfect circles... so, we arrive at this.
