idky tadc fandom wants jax to be transfem so much. its pretty clear that if he's trans anything it's transmasc. i mean the business with the maid outfit for a start. my personal fan theory is AGAC. Assigned gender at circus. In realspace, he was suffering from gender dysphoria, probably body dysphoria too, but when he gets brought to the circus, caine reads him as fully masc. zooble's profile was ambiguous, so caine gives them the ability to re-form themself like a realspace Mr. Potato Head, but jax was masc in his mind and caine unknowingly gave him the gender transition he always wanted. im not going to force people to believe this. im also not going to threaten goose for not divining my headcanon.

i wrote 2 new tutorials for the sims 1 site yesterday. it's going to be kind of hard for TSLE players to follow some of these especially when it comes to more complex customising and mods, since windows 10 and 11 dont have (and are not generally compatible with) the old libraries and runtimes that the original modding tools need.

I did mention that we need to completely rebuild TS1's modding tools for modern computers, didnt i? cos we really do.

The new Sims 1 fansite has a name, a page layout, and an 88x31 now. I'm trying to get at least one story, themed set, and tutorial made before I launch it. I'm also thinking about upgrading to supporter on Nekoweb, depending on how large the site gets, but the pitiful amount of storage space you get even with the supporter tier has put a stop to migrating the LCI Mini-Site. 500 megabytes is not great. 10 gigabytes isn't great either. Once upon a time, I was going to put all my old Bandcamp and Itch.io stuff onto the Internet Archive. I'm not real sure what happened to that tbh.

The fansite is going to be the release venue for the Sunshine Acres stories. Since the Besties household story starts in high school, I used the opportunity to make a few school-related objects so I could stage the shots better. But, yeah, we get to see Alexa as a blonde and we can put faces to the names of "Chloe", "Melissa", and "Janeane" now.

new species of spider just dropped. if you even care.

content warning for basic arachnophobes: spider. content warning for spider enjoyers: too smoll and cute, you will go insane.

if you can believe your eyes, ears, and extremities, im actually working on the sims 1 cc site! it will not be hosted on neocities because of various esoteric reasons mostly having to do with its squishy stance on AI training. also nekoweb doesnt put restrictions on filetypes so i can actually PUT downloads onto the site, rather than just pictures of downloads. while superficially similar to this site (ie. i reused some header code and colour values), it is not going to look like this. also css is a royal pain in the ass.

some cc i installed for the sims 1 recently somehow disabled goureaud shading for the entire game. idk how but i have a sneaking suspicion it was House Maximus. theres a lot wrong with that one, including a missing carpool spawner. it was bad enough i needed to reinstall the game. it fixed the problem tho, so i can carry on playing, making stuff, and pretend to start that much talked about ts1 cc site.

if you're one of those types who gets generative AI to make kink content for you, i hope you never have another orgasm again in your life. you know why.

Happy 2nd anniversary to the official beginning of the federiefederi Neocities clout-chasing scheme!

On this day in 2024, federiefederi pretended to convert their website into something like the old Neocities Districts that paved the way for their destruction. They advertised it as something like "big changes to the website" and then renamed all their directories so you couldn't access the rest of their site. Half the people following them were convinced they got "districted" (ie. put on "hiatus" and then abandoned), a quarter of them remembered it was April Fool's Day, and the other quarter didnt' care. Anyway, they used their big comeback after the prank ran its course to transition seamlessly into the clout-chasing scheme. Slightly more than 2 weeks later, they were gone.

On Trans Day of Visibility, the US Supreme Court struck down Colorado's ban on conversion therapy. Whether they were aware of the co-incidence or not isn't strictly relevant. Honestly, neither is their decision. We're trans today, we'll be trans tomorrow, and we'll be trans until no one remembers our names anymore. No dumb-ass group of old white people (and 1 old Black man) is going to be able to tell me what I can and cannot be. Send the police round to lock me up in a men's prison, send the feds round to magdump into me through my closed door, I'll still be a trans woman. There's nothing they can do to me that will change that and that makes them blindingly angry. Take away my meds, force me into masculine clothes, make me grow a beard, call me a "girly man", do whatever you please. At the end of the day, I'm still Tina. This transphobic totalitarian regime can fuck all the way off.

getting good at advanced techniques in ultrakill and then going back to earlier layers again feels a bit like time-travelling back to your primary school playground and beating up your old bullies as an adult.

Ultrakill spoilers: click to view

Lore-wise, 2-S: All-Imperfect Love Song can be explained 2 ways. First, Mirage is not a V1 lookalike, but is actually V1 themself. Based on the initial text crawl and certain details of Mirage's monologue, it can be inferred that this is actually V1 and either the player is a separate entity or V1's proximity to the corpse of King Minos is causing a RAM reflection and the player and Mirage are both V1. Second, V1 may have stumbled into Gabriel's dating simulator. It's reasonable to assume, since so many denizens of Hell were military engineers and roboticists (viz. basically every machine in the game), Gabriel may have come across the plans to the V-Series, gone "Whoa, sexy!" and made a dating simulator starring his idealised version of a V-Series machine. Honestly, given what I've come to learn about both Gianni and Hakita, I think they would probably agree the second option is the most likely one.

I forgot to light the shabbos candles. AGAIN.

I'd meant to migrate my music pages to Nekoweb today, but I got sidetracked playing ULTRAKILL. Holy fuck those secrets areas in 2-1 are HARROWING. Plus, you've got the corpse of King Minos just sort of shambling about the background. Learning how to do projectile boosting REALLY HELPS in the Lust layer. Honestly, I can see places it would help in the earlier layers too.

I made it sound like V2 is in the Cybergrind. She isn't. Boss characters aren't there (not counting mainline enemies whose first appearance is as a boss), but what I had been doing was projectile boosting against soldiers and strays, so I was pretty good at it by the time I got back to the V2 fight.

This, too, is yuri.

(Riza says we need to find a non-binary replacement for "yuri" and "yaoi", and I kinda agree tbh. "Yuri" is women being gay, "yaoi" is men being gay. What is it when 1 or however many in the polycule are non-binary or agender?)

2026 March 27: 05:49
i know people be out here with Fraud Ultrakill completely P-ranked at this stage but i finally beat V2. after a very long break in the cybergrind, i discovered that she's quite susceptible to projectile boosting, at least in her first form. i did a lot of that in the cybergrind so i was very keen to carry on using it in the main game.

also what is it with V1 taking everyone's arms? boss swordsmachine's shotgun arm, V2's knucklebuster, what is this, star wars? anyway im beyond certain that my old ass computer is never going to be able to run fraud without dropping so many frames the game becomes unplayable. not that im going to be physically able to play that layer. like, i JUST NOW beat V2. you gotta have almost ninja-like reflexes to play the higher levels. comparatively so, relative to my slow ass who can barely make it to wave 13 in cybergrind.

anyway now that i have ENA in the sims 1, i need to figure out how to get moony in there. she'll have to be a decorative object though, preferably one that doesnt make sound. that rotating metal sculpture from the core game maybe? hourglass dog needs to go in there, i need to make wall textures out of the Extinction Party backrooms and the great runas' holy code. i got shit to do, right. which is good because im back on my sims 1 mishigas again lol

FINALLY! i unlocked the alternative revolver in ultrakill last night! i kinda had to cheese it cos i was getting tired of being cut to pieces by the dual swordsmachines, i threw the soap at agony so i only had to deal with tundra. at that point it was just a standard swordsmachine fight. parry, chainsaw, dash-jump, parry, chainsaw, dash-jump. ofc that meant i had to actually kill the hideous mass with my weapons which admittedly im not great at. but like, fuck it if im ever facing those swordsmachines again. im going to play with it a bit in the cybergrind just to see what it does different than the standard revolver, but it sure does fire slowly, so that's a strike against it.

i also decided that it was time to make ENA in the sims 1.

ENA as Sims 1 CC.

a peculiarity of the sims 1 is you can't mix and match hand skins and the procedure for making new hands that bind to specific skins was eluding me at the time, so i just coloured her hands in with ms paint.

Well, THERE'S 42 minutes of my life I'm never getting back. Star Trek TNG 218-"Up the Long Ladder" is a complete waste of time. It's pretty fucking racist against Irish, portraying them as undereducated, unsophisticated backcountry oafs who take up space and disrupt the activities of "civilised" people. I haven't seen such blatant racism from TNG since "Code of Honour" or "A Private Little War" on TOS. I'm going to spoil the ending so you don't have to watch it. Basically, the "civilised" colony needs to absorb the stereotypal Irish colony in order to survive, EXACTLY like what the British did when they invaded Ireland. The Mariposans (British) decided they needed to take advantage of the Briongloidi (Irish) women in order that they can repopulate their colony, thus assimilating the Briongloidi into their civilisation, destroying the (albeit stereotypal) culture that once existed. Unknowingly, they also created aggression against sex-repulsed people, painting sex-revulsion as something terrible that would lead you to make unethical decisions. "Unknowingly", as though sex-repulsed people haven't existed throughout time, but I guess it wasn't as culturally prevalent back in the late 1980s.

The nail in the coffin was that the Enterprise senior staff made the decision to combine the two colonies. So, once again, you have the imperialist mask slip away from the "benevolent" Federation. Picard tells the Mariposan sovereign that he's being a bigot, but like. PLAINLY he values the existence of the technologically-advanced culture more than the agrarian one. The only saving grace to this episode was Barrie Ingham's character acting... but, he seems a little too good at playing an Irish stereotype, so, maybe that doesn't matter as much I thought it did. I mean, after all, Christopher Collins was really good at playing a deceitful, power-hungry guy with a developmental disability in the previous episode. You do what you have to for a paycheque, I understand that. But my particular beef is with the screenwriters (Melinda Snodgrass and Maurice Hurley), the executive producer (Rick Berman and Gene Roddenberry), and the studio executive (Brandon Tartikoff) for allowing it on the air in the first place.

It made Riza (whose family is Irish) so uncomfortable, they had to leave the room. Honestly, I don't blame them at all. Absolutely fuck this episode. If I was still doing episodic videologs, I would definitely give this episode a Sucks rating.

I decided to install all the converted Sims Online content into The Sims 1 yesterday and, idk. I feel like all I did was just hopelessly complicate shit. It takes me 3 days to scroll through all my skins and heads now, and a lot of them don't even look very good. I mean, for a start, whose idea was it to put flayed monstrosities into The Sims Online? I deleted a lot of the shit i was never going to use, but still. I don't know how I ever had such a huge CC collection back on Windows Me, but i did. I had something like 5000 skins and at least 800 objects back then. The difference between back then and now however is that I just installed stuff sight unseen, whereas I was downloading things based on how cool they looked to my 10-13yo brain. The main problem with the Sims Archive Project is that all the CC has been separated from its showcases, so you can't see what you're using until it's actually in the game. Spending an afternoon at your mum's office with a box of diskettes, downloading shit for TS1 from fansites was an experience. The Internet Archive is a public datahoard. I mean dont get me wrong, I'm glad the Sims Archive Project exists, but it isn't set up for anything but batch data retrieval. There's nothing to spark your imagination.

This business with Myrient shutting down and my mad dash to grab as much of the hoard as I can before the time expires is reminding me a lot of what I did with Cohost back in 2024. Except there, I waited until basically the last possible moment to get stuff, so I overlooked a lot in order to get it in under the wire. 'Cos, like, I had from read-only in October 2024 until server shutdown on 31 December to archive it, and I didn't. I waited until December to start my archiving process. With Myrient, its shutdown was announced only 30 days before. It was already the last minute by the time I learnt about it. Riza has offered to let me use their SSD, but these download speeds suck. I'm sorry, I kept meaning to download the rest of the Gamecube ISOs but I just didn't have enough physical storage until like last month. I guess I'll just deal with having a fragmentary GCN datahoard.

for some reason, i've really been missing Sim Town lately. the available streamed game on the internet archive is just some fuckass demo from 1994 that doesnt even fucking work (like, how dumb do you have to be? the EXE is CALLED "STDEMO.EXE". what do you think "DEMO" even means?). riza seems pretty confident they can get it running on dosbox on endeavouros, so technically i could probably do the same on win7. basically you just need to turn dosbox into a win3.1 vm and install sim town on it. i was just having trouble finding a win3.1 iso and i just forgot when firefox killed v115-ESR.
